About Us
Diehards Elite began as
a few younger guys playing pickup lacrosse intertwined with Master’s (age 35+) lacrosse
teams. As the drive to play competitively again grew, the idea of Diehards Elite
became a reality, as more young and talented lacrosse players joined.
When the tally
of players grew, it became a possibility to enter into competitive play. This first
venture, LaxtoberFest 2007 in Anne Arundel County, MD yielded a 2-2 record with
all games posted being against established American Lacrosse League teams. The Diehards
Lacrosse Club also accomplished the rarely achieved feat of fielding three teams
in each age division, (Elite, Master’s (35+) and Grand Master’s (45+).
The early
success of Diehard’s Elite pushed the idea of a spring schedule. Quite rapidly,
a full spring schedule was put
out for the Elite team, in addition to tournament
entries; once again, having the Diehards field competitive teams in all three age
divisions.
Diehards Elite plays the majority of games in the Baltimore Metro Area
while calling Carroll County, MD home. Ventures into Delaware, southern Pennsylvania,
Ocean City, MD and Annapolis are planned occasionally during the season.
The Diehards
pool most of their players from Carroll County and Baltimore County, but also include
players from Baltimore, Towson, Hanover, PA as well as several other locations.
Elite players range from former local high school standouts to former Division I
athletes.
